1:36 am - Bush Bashing Fizzles...

Wow, according to this story, we must have gotten tired of squawking about what a big dumb fuckhead our president is.

The American people have shouted themselves hoarse against this folksy dimwit/idealogue long enough to get discouraged. Hey, here's another insult to the American people that goes by the name of Bolton (not the singer).

For fuck's sake man, how much longer?

1:16 pm - Kerry Releases Military Records

Kerry has released his military records, and it includes commendations from some of the people who were part of the "Swift Boat Vetrans for Truth". I guess the coincidence between the "Swift Boat Vetrans" and the smear campaign lauched against McCain's service during the primaries wasn't such a coincidence.

Now, it's a uniquely Democratic strategy to hold onto these papers until after the election:

Indeed, one of the first actions of the group that came to be known
as Swift Boat Veterans for Truth was to call on Kerry to sign a privacy
waiver and release all of his military and medical records.

Kerry refused, even though it turned out that the records included
commendations from some of the same veterans who were criticizing him.

May 20, Kerry signed a document called Standard Form 180, authorizing
the Navy to send an ''undeleted" copy of his ''complete military
service record and medical record" to the Globe. Asked why he delayed
signing the form for so long, Kerry said in a written response: ''The
call for me to sign a 180 form came from the same partisan operatives
who were lying about my record on a daily basis on the Web and in the
right-wing media. Even though the media was discrediting them, they
continued to lie. I felt strongly that we shouldn't kowtow to them and
their attempts to drag their lies out."

So Hollywood's staunch and very vocal anti-Bush faction "contributed" to Bush's win? I don't think so. The Republicans running a better campaign than the Democrats and Kerry being a weak candidate (literally and figuratively) is why Bush won.

5:32 am - A Good Bush Kerry Debate Forum

I have created a community called heated_debate. It is an political/open topic debate and discussion forum based on the idea of total free speech and anti-censorship. There is no banning for stating one's opinion or ideas. Feel free to post about what you want how you want.
Political and controversial subjects are the main goal of this forum, as well as media, religion, and literature, and I know that the members of this community are well read and know plenty about the world around them. I was hoping some of you might come join and us get things rolling with your input!
I know there are not tons of debate topics up and running yet, but we are working on it.
Anyway, please consider joining heated_debate.
- Nick.

5:09 pm - Just when you thought this forum was pretty much dead

This might be the xmas miracle that 49 million people have been praying for.

I just saw this on sos_usa

Kerry Preparing Grounds to Unconcede.

based on these revelations about the Ohio Polls.

Don't know how credible the links are, but the debate that this is likely to generate should be extremely interesting in any case.

6:59 pm - New

I just joined, and even though the elections over I still want to say what I think and have people comment on my opinions. I guess to start out with I should say that I wanted Kerry to win. Im not exactly a Democrat, but during the past few years Ive really started to wonder about Republicans. Some of the things I dont understand are: If everyone is equal, then why cant gays get married? And I dont think "Because its wrong" Is a very good answer. Why should a male president decide whether or not a woman gets an abortion? Those are the two main things that I really cant understand. If George Bush wants to make or change laws, shouldnt he change ones that will have an effect on him? How does it hurt him, or anyone else, if two people of the same sex want to get married? Or if a woman has an unplanned pregnancy and choses not to have the baby? A woman had to fight to give us the right to chose abortion or not, so why should a male president say that its not alright? And why would any female want to support him? Ok, well those are some of my questions. Please comment, and tell me what you think. Thanks.

x posted from newjingoists

See, for the past six years, I've been living outside of the United States. I get haircuts more often than I meet Americans - no joke. I'm far more likely to run into a Brazilian, an Aussie, or a foreigner from another country. I consider myself a citizen of the world because of the time and effort I've spent with people who don't get my jokes. When I do meet Americans, I'm struck by how easy it is to understand their political leanings. Most of the expats are liberals... I've met only a few Republicans and conservatives.

So, here's a joke I just thought of, but it's not funny until someone gives it a really good punchline:

What do you call a liberal who moves to another country?
- a global citizen

What do you call a Republican who moves to another country?
